The Mode Muse respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. It is our policy to respond promptly to valid claims of copyright infringement in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other applicable intellectual property laws.

If you believe that material available on or through themodemuse.org infringes one or more of your copyrights, please send a written notice that includes the details outlined below.

1. Filing a Copyright Infringement Notice

If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on behalf of one) and believe that your work has been copied or used in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please provide us with the following information:

Your full legal name and physical or electronic signature.
Identification of the copyrighted work(s) claimed to have been infringed.
Identification of the specific material on The Mode Muse that you believe infringes your work, including the exact URL(s).
Your contact information, including email address, telephone number, and mailing address.
A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

2. Submitting a DMCA Notice

Upon receiving a valid and complete DMCA notice, The Mode Muse will review the claim and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the allegedly infringing material.

3. Counter Notification

If you believe that content you posted on The Mode Muse was removed or disabled in error, you may submit a counter-notification.
Your counter-notice must include the following:

Your full name, address, telephone number, and email address.
Identification of the content that was removed and the location (URL) where it appeared before removal.
A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the content was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your area and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original DMCA notice.
Your physical or electronic signature.

Counter-notices may also be sent to contact@themodemuse.org with the subject line “DMCA Counter Notification.”

4. Repeat Infringement Policy

In accordance with the DMCA, The Mode Muse reserves the right to terminate, suspend, or restrict access to any user account found to be repeatedly infringing copyrighted material.
