“I have a date tomorrow,” she announced. “I need rehearsal.”
“For what?”
She changed her posture instantly — voice lower, eyes heavier, movements unhurried.
“Eye contact first,” she said, demonstrating — on me.
“Then proximity.”
She stepped in until I had to lean back against the counter.
“You’re overdoing it,” I said.
“Am I?”
Her fingers hooked lightly at my waistband — not pulling, just testing reaction.
“You’re very responsive for a practice audience,” she noted.
“I didn’t volunteer.”
“You didn’t leave either.”
